Frimley Campaigners Rally as Petition to Protect Fuel Allotments Reaches 8,000 Signatures
The grassroots campaign to protect the Frimley Fuel Allotments has gained significant momentum after the Change.org petition surpassed 8,000 signatures on Sunday evening.
The milestone, reached just before 5pm on 22 March 2026, marks a strong show of public opposition to proposals that could see the green space used as the site for a new Frimley Park Hospital.

Campaigners say the figure reflects clear and growing concern within the local community. Supporters have been actively sharing the petition and encouraging wider awareness of the issue across Frimley and neighbouring towns and villages.
Despite the achievement, organisers stress that the campaign is entering a critical phase. A decision on the hospital’s proposed location is expected in June, with key discussions likely to be already underway.
Residents are now being urged to intensify their efforts by contacting local councillors and MPs, as well as continuing to promote the campaign through social media and word of mouth.
While there is broad agreement on the need for a new hospital, campaigners argue that it should not come at the expense of one of the area’s remaining green spaces. The Fuel Allotments are described by supporters as a valued natural environment, offering peace, wildlife habitat, and a place for the community to connect with nature.
With time running short before a final decision is made, campaigners are calling on the public to maintain pressure and ensure their voices continue to be heard.
